Advancial Receives ESGR Patriot Award
Recognition honors supervisors who support an employee’s military service; CEO signs Statement of Support
DALLAS, TX (October 21, 2026) — Advancial Federal Credit Union was recognized with an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award during a private presentation last Thursday, October 15. Olivia Mitchell, Vice President of Employee Experience and Diane Bielman, Employee Engagement Director, both received Patriot Awards following their nomination by Advancial’s Senior Talent Acquisition Strategist Marcus Matthews, a 15-year U.S. Navy Reserve service member, in recognition of their support of his military service. “My military service is an important part of my life, and having supervisors who understand and support that commitment makes a real difference,” said Matthews. “I’m grateful to Diane and Olivia for their support, and it means a lot to see that support recognized by ESGR.”
The ESGR Patriot Award recognizes supervisors who make meaningful efforts to support employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. The award highlights the important role employers and workplace leaders play in helping service members balance military responsibilities with civilian careers and family life.
“After 25 years of military service, I’ve learned that behind every successful service member are people who support and encourage them. These awards recognize supervisors who go above and beyond to help employees balance their civilian careers, family responsibilities and military commitments,” said Mike Rabe, ESGR TX Area Chair.
During the presentation, Sheffield also signed the ESGR Statement of Support, affirming Advancial’s commitment to supporting employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
“Supporting the people who serve our country is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Brent Sheffield, Advancial’s President and CEO. “We’re proud to encourage our employees to pursue their military commitments while continuing to grow and contribute here at Advancial.”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, works to promote cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Through recognition, outreach and education, ESGR encourages employers to support military service while helping service members maintain successful civilian careers.
