Advancial recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Texas

April 21, 2016

DALLAS — Advancial Federal Credit Union recently earned the distinction as a Best Company to Work for in Texas and ranked 14th for medium-sized companies.

“We were very excited to learn we made the list as a Best Company to Work for in Texas for the sixth consecutive year,” said Tara Weaver, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at Advancial. “Our employees foster the culture and positive work environment Advancial has today. They deserve this recognition.”

The project is facilitated by the Best Companies Group. To participate in the 2016 Best Companies to Work for in Texas program, Advancial’s workplace assessment process included an employee survey and an inventory of the company benefits, policies and offerings. The final rankings of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas list was revealed at the Texas Association of Business (TAB) Best Companies to Work for in Texas Awards Dinner on March 29 in Austin, Texas.

“We offer a very strong benefits package and our company culture is fun yet hard-working,” said Brent Sheffield, President and CEO of Advancial. “We’re always looking for ways to improve employee satisfaction and set Advancial apart as an employer of distinction, and it’s an added bonus to be recognized in this way.”

Employees were surveyed on a number of topics: confidence in the leadership team, the corporate culture and satisfaction with the physical workplace, among others. Advancial is honored to have made the list for the sixth consecutive year and continues to innovate for employee satisfaction and retention.

Advancial is EMMAs Shortlisted Nominee for 2016

April 13, 2016

HOUSTON, TX — Advancial Federal Credit Union has been recognized as a shortlisted nominee for The Forum for Expatriate Management’s 7th Annual EMMAs (Expatriate Management and Mobility Awards). Advancial’s category in the Americas division is the “Expatriate Banking Service of the Year.”

“We’re so pleased to be shortlisted for this very prestigious category,” says Deborah Griesbach, Chief Marketing Officer at Advancial. “We’ve developed a program that makes setting up banking accounts easy for those new to the U.S. on a work-related basis. It’s a great honor to be recognized for the effort.”

Requirements to enter into the EMMAs included a 1500 word entry statement detailing why the company deserves the award and up to three supporting documents, including testimonials from clients. With over 24 categories of awards ranging from “Best Family Support Program” to “Most Effective Relocation Management Strategy,” the exclusive group of shortlisted companies is a collection of those striving to offer the best products and services to a unique group of employees. Winners will be announced on May 5, 2016 in Philadelphia.

“My representative, Katrina Fowlkes, spent a considerable amount of time explaining the different options Advancial had to offer,” said Alejandro Boldt, an employee of Sabre. “She focused on making my transition from another country to the U.S. as smooth as possible.”

One of the largest obstacles for expatriates is getting financially settled in the United States. Advancial understands this difficulty and attempts to make the financial transition easy for expatriates moving to the U.S. Over the past four years, Advancial has marketed an expatriate program that consists of many unique product offerings for this audience. Advancial is able to offer expatriates credit card limits up to $10,000, auto loans up to $50,000 and multi-million dollar mortgages, upon arrival to the U.S. A few simple documents are all that is needed from the expatriate to get started. By developing a program specifically for expatriates, Advancial is able to extend credit without a credit score, thus providing lending to an audience that needs it most.

Advancial Hosts Adoption Event and Finds Forever Homes for Lafayette Dogs

March 19, 2016

Lafayette, LA — Advancial Federal Credit Union hosted a dog adoption event at its Lafayette branch, located at 306 E Kaliste Saloom Road. Advancial partnered with multiple area animal rescue organizations, and the day’s events included a food truck, giveaways and adorable dogs.

“At Advancial, we’re committed to our communities, our members and our pets, so this event was a natural extension of that commitment,” says Deborah Griesbach, Chief Marketing Officer at Advancial. “We were thrilled to be able to work with Lafayette shelters and find forever homes for these dogs.”

Saturday’s dog adoption event was the result of a collaboration between Advancial and Lafayette-area animal shelters including Acadiana Animal Aid, Animal Rescue Foundation of Louisiana (ARF-LA) and Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter. Camp Bow Wow participated in the day’s festivities as well, offering training tips to new pet parents, and showcasing some of their best students. The Cacklin Hens food truck was at the branch all day, serving up home style Cajun food for breakfast and lunch. Despite the grey skies and low temperatures, the day was a success, and many of the dogs in attendance should arrive at their forever homes once the applications are processed by the shelters.

A pup named Sweet Pea was the first to be adopted by Miss Lily, an elderly Lafayette resident who came hoping to find a small companion dog. Sweet Pea spent the morning cuddled in Lily’s jacket, snuggling with her new friend and staying warm from the wind. A young family with an 8 month-old daughter adopted a Shepard-mix puppy; baby and puppy seemed to be instantly in love and ready to play.

Nancy Marcantel of ARF said afterward, “We made some good contacts, the dogs had fun and we tired them out. Win-win! We appreciate Advancial’s community-minded spirit, and their dedication to the homeless pets in our area. I look forward to the next event!”

With a history dating back to 1937, Advancial provides a diversified line of advanced financial solutions to its members. Today, Advancial is a full-service financial institution that serves over 85,000 members worldwide and has assets over $1.1 billion. Advancial’s categories in the Americas division are the “Employee Benefits Services of the Year” and “Expatriate Banking Service of the Year.” Among the competitors in each group are companies such as ITG Worldwide, Travel Guard, Citibank and HSBC Corporate Expatriate Banking.

“We’re so pleased to be shortlisted for two very prestigious categories this year,” says Deborah Griesbach, VP of Marketing & Business Relations at Advancial. “We’ve developed a program that makes setting up banking accounts easy for those new to the U.S. on a work-related basis. Requirements to enter into the EMMAs included a 1500 word entry statement detailing why the company deserves the award and up to three supporting documents, including testimonials from clients. Advancial understands this difficulty and attempts to make the financial transition easy for expatriates moving into the U.S. Over the past four years, Advancial has marketed an expatriate program that consists of many unique product offerings for this audience. While other institutions will help with bank accounts, they are not able to offer financial education or high unsecured limits on loans. Advancial is able to offer expatriates credit card limits up to $10,000, auto loans up to $50,000 and multi-million dollar mortgages, upon arrival to the U.S. A few simple documents are all that is needed from the expatriate in order to get started and a credit score is not included in the required documentation. Advancial’s Summer Celebrations

August 27, 2013

DALLAS – Advancial Federal Credit Union’s top priority is its employees and one of the ways Advancial focuses on this is by bringing them together regularly, outside of work. This year’s summer celebrations included food, fun and employee excitement.

“It’s wonderful to see our employees come together in such creative and team-oriented summer activities,” said Brent Sheffield, President & CEO with Advancial. “Each of our regional summer events was a great way for employees to interact with their families and have a shared experience in a social environment. Advancial is proud to host such a wide array of employee events.”

Employees located in Dallas, Advancial’s city headquarters, enjoyed a Wolfgang Puck catered dinner and a private visit of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Since this newly opened museum is the hottest ticket in town, employees were excited to view the quad-level, ultra-modern museum with their family and co-workers in this exclusive after-hours event.

“Having the museum to ourselves made the whole experience even more enjoyable,” said Stephanie Simmons, Marketing Analyst. “My son especially enjoyed the privacy because he was able to interact with the exhibits without waiting in long lines.”

Employees from Advancial’s Alaska branches were focused on healthy and happy living when they participated in the Color RunTM 5K. The rules for the 5K are simply to “wear white at the starting line” and “finish plastered in color.” Houston-area employees arranged an outing to Main Event Entertainment for an evening of food and fun for all ages. Main Event offers indoor bowling, laser tag and even a ropes course. Advancial’s staff located in Louisiana chose to express their artistic side during an evening of Painting with a Twist®. Oklahoma employees took time to cool down from the summer heat with a fun day at White Water Bay water park.

Advancial ranks among the Best Companies to Work for in Texas by Texas Monthly because of activities like these and many others. Throughout the year employees enjoy fun company contests, opportunities to volunteer for their communities and numerous outlets for giving feedback, such as one-on-one annual meetings with the President & CEO and Chief Human Resources Officer.
